<p>PROOF: Genetics Don&#039;t Make You Phat</p>
<p>Over the years I&#039;ve heard a lot of people claim that they&#039;re phat because of their genetics and it was a waste of time trying to do anything about it.</p>
<p>Mind you I do believe that genetics may play a role in body phat levels. But the question is are you doomed to be phat by your genetics?</p>
<p>Do you have to constantly starve yourself to stay thin and healthy?</p>
<p>I believe the answer is no.</p>
<p>Let me give you a couple of examples. I&#039;m good friends with a woman who&#039;s sister and mother are quite phat in fact obese. Actually, before I met her she topped out at around 160 pounds at 5 feet and one inch in height.</p>
<p>But she went on a Raw Food Diet and she started dropping the excess whale blubber.</p>
<p>After a while she stopped losing.</p>
<p>She asked at the raw food meetings why she had stopped losing. I asked her about her diet and realized she was eating the Gourmet Raw or high phat raw food diet.</p>
<p>I told her that was her problem and gave her some suggestions and soon she started dropping the flab again.</p>
<p>Eventually she got down to around 120 pounds and was able to maintain it easily while eating raw. I realize she was not yet at her ideal weight but that is not the point of this story. I&#039;ll deal with what she needed to do get to her ideal weight later on.</p>
<p>She was much thinner than she was before. She was now the thin one of the family.</p>
<p>Was it genetics or was it the kind of diet that affected her weight?</p>
<p>The answer is obvious. And she wasn&#039;t starving herself, she was doing just fine and feeling satisfied.</p>
<p>Next is my lovely Karmyn.</p>
<p>There are plenty of obese people in Karmyn&#039;s family and at one point in her life Karmyn was quite overweight as well. And now she&#039;s getting very close to her ideal weight.</p>
<p>Of course, she eats a raw food diet, though lately she&#039;s been doing an interesting variation of the raw food diet. I&#039;ll explain that in a future email.</p>
<p>The point being is the kind of foods she eats and the quantities have a large impact on her weight. She&#039;s not doomed by her fat family genetics and she&#039;s not doomed to starving herself to stay thin.</p>
<p>The other day I read an example of a 16 week study done on a pair of 18 year old twins who started at the same weight and body composition.</p>
<p>The study involved no changes to their diets at all.</p>
<p>They just put them on two different exercise programs.</p>
<p>One twin dropped 18 lbs of phat and went from 24.5% body phat down to 10% body phat while gaining 9 pounds of muscle. The other twin dropped only 8 lbs of phat and went down to 19.5% body phat and actually wasted away 2 lbs of muscle by the end of the study.</p>
<p>Your job is to guess which exercise routine below produced the best results.</p>
<p>One twin started jogging one mile per day and eventually upped it to ten miles per day and without a break. That probably took her well over an hour to do that ten mile run.</p>
<p>The other twin also started jogging one mile per day but she gradually REDUCED her running time. By the end she was doing only 6-sprints for 50 yards and resting 30 seconds in between each set.</p>
<p>I&#039;m sure that took her less than 10 minutes to do. Sprinting 50 yards shouldn&#039;t take more than 30 seconds. In reality she could do that workout in about 6-minutes and be finished for the day.</p>
<p>So which exercise method do you think produced the huge drop in the whale blubber?</p>
<p>If you think jogging because it&#039;s aerobic and aerobic exercises specifically melt phat and it was obviously a much longer workout&#8230; you&#039;d be DEAD PHAT wrong.</p>
<p>The vigorous sprinting workout was the mega phat remover. And it had a great side effect of putting on 9 pounds of lean muscle.</p>
<p>It&#039;s not genetics but athletics that determines your percentage of body phat.</p>
<p>I&#039;ve never been a fan of long runs or super long aerobic workouts. Instead I like to do Mini-Workouts as I teach them in my international best selling - Lightning Speed Fitness Program (LSFP).</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A number of years ago when I was regularly attending and then leading raw food support groups in NYC I saw a woman undergo the most amazing transformation in appearance.</p>
<p>She went from a decent looking middle aged woman (maybe a 7 on a scale of 1 to 10) to eventually looking like a gorgeous super model or a perfect TEN like Bo Derek in the movie 10.</p>
<p>While she was no beast initially her physical transformation was just mind blowing.</p>
<p>What happened was she went 100% raw and every month or two I&#039;d notice dramatic changes in her appearance. She was always looking more beautiful and without makeup.</p>
<p>Then one day she came to a meeting and she was just glowing. I swear she looked like she was in her early 20&#039;s and she was stunningly beautiful all of a sudden. This transformation took about 1.5 years of being 100% raw.</p>
<p>Of course, she lost some hippo blubber but her transformation was much more than that. Her skin just exuded the radiant glow of youth. The last improvement I saw from her was the most dramatic. I&#039;ve never seen someone change so dramatically in appearance from one month to the next.</p>
<p>My jaw nearly fell to the floor so stunning was she.</p>

<p>Many years back when I was still stringing tennis rackets for the Sports Authority we got this new manager in for the Tennis and Golf department.</p>
<p>I liked him immediately. And even at the time I realized a reason why I liked him right away.</p>
<p>There was something about his posture. He seemed to have perfect posture built on a strong and muscular body. His body just exuded confidence and at the same time calmness.</p>
<p>He couldn&#039;t have been as dynamic if he was stuck in weak, sick and blubber-laden body.</p>
<p>In fact, he wasn&#039;t that much in the way of a personality at all. It was his body that did his talking and radiating for him.</p>

<p>Just so you know, I&#039;m not talking about doing some kind of crazy writing exercise with your pen that makes you sweat. Though I&#039;ll have to think about that one&#8230;</p>
<p>But there are some writing based activities that will magnify and multiply your motivation to have a Greek God(dess) body like nothing else.</p>
<p>For instance&#8230;</p>
<p>1. People who kept a daily food diary lost more than twice as much weight as those who did not record their food.</p>
<p>The American Journal of Preventive Medicine, August 2008. Pages 118-126.</p>
<p>Why do you think this would work so well?</p>
<p>It&#039;s because &#034;writing creates awareness.&#034; And writing creates focus.</p>
<p>When you daily write down what you&#039;re eating, you become acutely aware of what you&#039;re eating.</p>
<p>Whereas before when you weren&#039;t monitoring you&#039;d just shove anything down your mouth &#034;without thinking&#034; and that can lead to an extra 500 to 1,000 calories per day of junk food easily.</p>
<p>But when you write down or even track your foods and nutrients in a free site like <a title="Fitday.com" href="http://www.fitday.com">http://www.fitday.com</a> you become AWARE of what you&#039;re eating.</p>
<p>And it does something else even more powerful. It challenges you to improve upon what you&#039;ve been doing.</p>
<p>Whatever you wrote down the first day, the next day you&#039;ll naturally want to do better.</p>
<p>It turns blubber removal into a fun game for you because now you have very specific goals for yourself.</p>
<p>Even Karmyn mentioned to me that she eats way less food when she enters her daily food intake into <a title="Fitday.com" href="http://www.fitday.com">http://www.fitday.com</a>. I&#039;ve noticed the exact same thing myself.</p>
<p>2. Start a Daily Exercise Journal</p>
<p>Ok, the same exact principles apply. Writing down daily your exercises acts as a unconscious goal setting device. You just naturally want to improve.</p>
<p>You&#039;ll want to do more reps, or use heavier resistance or improve your time. And all of this is much more powerful by putting it in writing.</p>
<p>In fact, this can turn exercise into a game. I found this works really well with my Push-Up Blaster Program &#8211;<a href="http://PushupBlaster.com">http://PushupBlaster.com</a>.</p>
<p>I&#039;m always trying to beat my personal best when using the Muscle Blaster X based exercise. I literally have years of exercise journals. And just for the fun of it, I gradually try to improve my results.</p>
<p>It&#039;s not always a steady line up, sometimes I have to take time off or I may get an injury. But whatever I did the day before, I want to beat.</p>
<p>Same holds true for doing other kinds of exercises. The past couple of days I&#039;ve been focusing on doing Lightning Aerobics &#8211;<a href="http://LightningSpeedFitness.com/">http://LightningSpeedFitness.com</a> which is my proprietary way of doing aerobics that builds muscle and increases energy levels dramatically.</p>
<p>Yesterday I notated how long it took to do that routine. It took me about 27 minutes (this included the fact that I was writing down some ideas in-between and checking email). So today, I shot for doing the routine much faster. Basically less breaks.</p>
<p>I also ended up increasing the difficulty and I finished it in 20 minutes and 36 seconds instead of about 27 minutes. Much of this Lightning Aerobics routine was focused on doing the Bigity Butt Shrinking exercises.</p>
<p>For me they&#039;re just muscle builders. I&#039;m not trying to shrink my rear but get it super toned.</p>
<p>Man are my legs feeling like logs today. But that tells me that I&#039;m doing some serious work.</p>
<p>In closing those are the two ways to get ripped by writing. Keep a daily food and exercise journal and watch how your excess body butter starts dripping in large puddles on the floor.</p>

<p>There are far more effective things to do to get rid of yer HUMONGO BUTTO.</p>
<p>1. The most important thing you could do is improve your diet.</p>
<p>All of the exercises in the world won&#039;t do much if you&#039;re stuffing your face at every chance you get with fat and toxin laden junk foods.</p>
<p>Yes it&#039;s not only excess calories that make you fat but also the quality of the foods you eat.</p>
<p>Having a beautiful and lean derriere requires that you be thin overall. And droppin the flab is best accomplished by eating a good diet.</p>

<p>Can you answer a question for me? Do you exercise before or after breakfast, in other words, should we eat before exercising, or afterwards?</p>

<p>Thanks for your question Bob.</p>
<p>Personally, I always strive to exercise on an empty stomach. You&#039;ll ALWAYS be at your strongest on an empty stomach.</p>
<p>Digesting food takes up an incredible amount of energy. Especially if you eat a typical cooked food and miscombined breakfast that most people in the US and around the world eat.</p>
<p>I think the perception or problem some people have about exercising on an empty stomach is feeling they&#039;re not going to have enough energy to exercise because they didn&#039;t eat.</p>
<p>That&#039;s just a fallacy.</p>
<p>When you eat you don&#039;t eat energy, you consume fuel. You&#039;re body then needs to convert the fuel into energy. This happens mostly at night when you&#039;re sleeping.</p>
<p>Though fruit is the easiest food to digest and can also supply a rather quick energy boost.</p>
<p>But if you simply eat enough in the way of simple carbohydrates coming mostly from raw fruit your body will have a large tank full of ready to use and long lasting energy.</p>
<p>Most people don&#039;t understand that the body can&#039;t even use complex carbohydrates (starchy foods like bread and pasta) as fuel. The body has to break them down into simple carbohydrates first.</p>
<p>Anyone eating complex carbs for sustained energy is just fooling themselves. It doesn&#039;t work that way at all. I know because I used to be a staunch believer in that myth.</p>
<p>This breaking down process is an incredible waste of energy (and fuel) and not something you experience when you eat raw fruits as your main carbohydrate source.</p>
<p>I sometimes won&#039;t eat for 6 or 7 hours after waking up because I know that I want to do a workout, but I&#039;m getting some other work done first. But usually I wait two or three hours after waking before I even do my workout.</p>
<p>Today is going to be at least 3.5 hours before I eat.</p>
<p>Unless you&#039;re doing an intense workout lasting into the hour long range or so, you really just won&#039;t need to be refueling during your workout.</p>
<p>Again that&#039;s assuming you eat enough in the way of carbohydrates or that your body converts enough of the other foods into carbohydrates for you.</p>
<p>Of course, some people feel they can be great athletes while eating a high phat diet and burning phat instead of carbohydrates for their primary fuel. But that will never work for high speed or fast muscle twitch kind of exercises.</p>
<p>For instance I&#039;ve never heard of any Olympic sprinters who are on a low carb diet. (Let me know if you do.)</p>
<p>If you participate in any sports besides golf and bowling, you&#039;re going to want to get your carbohydrate levels up to the FULL line.</p>
<p>And that&#039;s best done by the way, while eating an Optimal Raw Food Diet which is also happens to be the ultimate diet for athletes.</p>
<p>You get nutrient breakdown something like this: At least 75% of calories from carbohydrates (simple - not starchy), no more than 10% of calories from protein (actually amino acids) and no more than 15% of calories coming from fat.</p>
<p>That will supply you all of the carbs you need so that you can exercise intensely or not so intensely for a very long time.</p>
<p>So when&#039;s the best time to exercise?</p>
<p>Anytime you can do it on an empty stomach. I usually prefer the mornings. Always try to find your highest energy time of day and then exercise at that time on an empty stomach.</p>
<p>Some people won&#039;t be able to exercise until the evening. I had to do that back when I first started my exercise routine in the early 1990&#039;s. And that&#039;s fine, just exercise before dinner.</p>

<p><strong>&#034;Why Reading Books Can Delay Success&#034;</strong></p>
<p>In a recent Magic Idea (Where To Find the Solutions To All Of Your Problems) I told you that bookstores and libraries where a fantastic problem solving and success resource.</p>
<p>And while books, articles, emails, audio and video educational programs are great&#8230; they are not the fastest way to success within your chosen field or problem area.</p>
<p>In fact, they could delay your success for many years for at least two important reasons.</p>
<p><strong>1. You may be reading the wrong books. </strong></p>
<p><span style="background-color: #ffff00;"><strong>Case Study</strong></span> - I know this guy who read all sorts of raw food books and had even read MANY self-help and spiritual books as well. But he just couldn&#039;t manage to stay 100% raw even though he wanted to.</p>
<p>Turns out the books were actually confusing to him. He didn&#039;t know which one to follow. The advice was contradictory in many of these raw food books.</p>
<p>For five long years he made at least 30 attempts to go 100% raw but just couldn&#039;t do it longer than 3-months at a time.</p>
<p>It wasn&#039;t until he found a mentor that he succeeded at going 100% raw. And when he found that right mentor it only took him a week to go 100% raw and stay that way.</p>
<p>That mentor cleared away years of bad ideas and nutritional myths he had read about in raw food and general books on nutrition. As long as those false beliefs were there, he&#039;d never have been able to go 100% raw.</p>
<p>It was the bad ideas he picked up in the wrong books and speaking to the wrong people (people who had gone raw but were no longer raw) that kept him from being able to stay 100% raw.</p>
<p><strong>2. How can you tell from a book what your specific problem or appropriate next action to take actually is?</strong></p>
<p><span style="background-color: #ffff00;"><strong>Case Study</strong></span> - This young man just graduating from college knew he wanted to help improve the world. He was so grateful for how his life had improved that he wanted to share his success with others.</p>
<p>He wanted to help people discover that they were powerful SPIRITUAL beings with unlimited potential and that they were always loved. He searched far and wide for a job that made him happy and gave him fulfillment. Yet in none of those jobs could he find his real calling.</p>
<p>Work for him was a miserable chore. Something he had to do but not something he wanted to do.</p>
<p>He read lots of books on marketing and spent a lot of money on expensive audio marketing programs and success audios. But finding his ideal job or career was not happening.</p>
<p>In fact, it took him 14 years until he was finally able to make a full time living doing what he loved to do.</p>
<p>But there was one thing he could have done that would have brought him to success in 3 years or less. Something that could have shortcutted him to his dream at least 400% faster and saved him 11 years over just reading books and studying audio training programs.</p>
<p>All he needed was the right mentor or coach.</p>
<p>There&#039;s nothing that can take you to success faster in life than getting an experienced coach or mentor. And if you haven&#039;t guessed both of these case studies were actually stories from my own life.</p>
<p>Yes I made it to success in business without a mentor. But I wasted a <strong>lot</strong> of valuable time by not having an experienced mentor to guide me in the right steps.</p>
<p>My mentor ended up being books and life experience. Books are great but they can&#039;t do for you what a real live human can do for you.</p>
<p>I could have been living my dream life up to eleven years earlier and be a lot further on my life path and mission had I done so.</p>
<p>The problem with books is that you can&#039;t ask them a question. You can&#039;t always be sure if what you&#039;re focusing on is the most important thing&#8230; or heck if it&#039;s just a delusion or a stupid idea.</p>
<p>A qualified coach or mentor can totally shortcut the path to success for you.</p>
<p>It&#039;s like going on a straight super highway as opposed to a curvy mountain road. Which road do you think will get you there faster?</p>
<p>I had the same exact thing happen to me in my spiritual studies. Once I joined a spiritual group and went to regular meetings and was around others who were experiencing what I wanted to experience, only then did I start making rapid spiritual progress in my life.</p>
<p>Of course, you can and should read books and study info-programs while you have a mentor. It would be a good idea to study the books and programs that your mentor recommends and in the order he/she recommends.</p>

<p>My only other piece of advice is to choose your mentor wisely. And it&#039;s ok, if for some reason the first one you chose was not quite right for you. Get the mentor that is in closest alignment with your particular direction in life.</p>
<p>Get someone who&#039;s been <strong>successful </strong>in the exact field you are going into.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I often get emails from customers of the Lightning Speed Fitness Program &#8212; <a href="http://LightningSpeedFitness.com/">http://LightningSpeedFitness.com/</a> telling me how surprised they are at the results they get from doing just a few repetitions of the Lightning Speed Exercise (LSE).</p>
<p>They do about 10 to 20 repetitions of the exercise and they can&#039;t believe how sore they are in their legs the next day.</p>
<p>The funny thing is that I always warn them to really take it easy at first. But in their enthusiasm they go way beyond what they should.</p>
<p>(Case in point.)</p>
<p>Over a year ago I showed my partner Karmyn a.k.a. Naked Melons how to do the Lightning Speed Exercise (LSE). At first she wanted to do her own leg exercise but I said no &#034;do this instead,&#034; it&#039;s much more powerful.</p>
<p>She did one set of 15 and a couple of minutes later she did a set of 20. Each of these sets she could do in less than 30 seconds.</p>
<p>Once you get good at doing these, you could just plan to do 5 to 10 sets of LSE&#039;s for 30-seconds each and get tremendous results.</p>
<p>It doesn&#039;t take a lot of time because this exercise uses &#034;multiple muscle groups&#034; as opposed to the isolation exercise machines you typically find in a gym.</p>
<p>Karmyn was shocked at how sore she felt after doing such few repetitions. She was so sore that even three days later she was unable to do the LSE&#039;s without pain.</p>
<p>She tried to do one and couldn&#039;t even finish it. She needs another day of rest before going again.</p>
<p>So please take my word of caution. When you start off with LSE&#039;s, the main exercise of the Lightning Speed Fitness Program, you need to take it easy.</p>
<p>Do about half of what you feel your maximum is at the time. Even if you&#039;re an experienced worker-outer or fitness freak this super powerful exercise could set you back a few days if you overdo it.</p>
<p>It must be approached with caution and respect.</p>
<p>Of course, once you build up muscular strength and stamina, you&#039;ll be able to do 100, 200, 300 or more of these in a row or in a day and barely have any soreness at all.</p>
<p>It&#039;s a matter of building up over time.</p>
<p>My personal rule of thumb is not to do more than 50 LSE&#039;s in a row if I haven&#039;t done them in more than a week. In fact, I&#039;m in building back mode this week.</p>
<p>Today I did 120 in a row; yesterday I did 100 in a row, the day before 80, then 75, 70, 60 and 50 before that.</p>
<p>I know from multiple painful experiences that I have to take this easy. I can do more than I can handle at first but end up getting very sore because of it.</p>
<p>I&#039;ve had several times where I was sore for three days by doing too many at first. But since implementing my 50 reps rule I never get sore from doing them.</p>
<p>In Karmyn&#039;s case she needed to start with only 10 reps. Any more than that and she&#039;d be too sore.</p>
<p>The great thing about the soreness is that you know for sure that the LSE&#039;s are doing their magic.</p>
<p>The original reason I named the program the Lightning Speed Fitness Program was because doing the LSE&#039;s made me incredibly fast on the tennis court.</p>
<p>I was shocked at how fast I got to the tennis balls. Having lots of speed is fun when you didn&#039;t have it before. It&#039;s like a new toy and you constantly want to test yourself speed out.</p>
<p>Once I get to doing 200 of them in a row my running speed jumps up through the roof. I actually run faster at almost 42 years of age than I did when I was in college due to the muscle building power of the LSE&#039;s.</p>
<p>And I don&#039;t spend more than 3 to 5 minutes a day doing them.</p>

<p>But don&#039;t think it&#039;s just about speed. What&#039;s really great about doing the LSE&#039;s is that they rev up your &#034;whale-blubber-burning&#034; metabolism. This exercise strengthens your legs and adds sexy and highly attractive muscle mass.</p>
<p>This increased muscle mass means you&#039;re burning more calories automatically. One of my keys to staying lean and ripped is in having a lot of muscle mass.</p>
<p>A pound of muscle burns close to 70 calories a day whereas a pound of fat burns only about 3 calories a day.</p>
<p>If you want to be slim then one of the best ways is to add on more muscle.</p>
<p>Now don&#039;t worry about getting too muscular. You can always just stop doing the exercises at the point where you feel your muscles are bigger than you want them to be. They shrink down quickly after a week of not exercising.</p>
