When people go raw there are many different “powers” they get.
One of my raw super powers is the ability to tolerate much higher heat than in my cooked food days. To me it literally feels at least 7 degrees cooler in the summertime than it used to.
Of course, not everyone gets the same super powers.
Some people go raw and their eyesight goes back to normal. Unfortunately that did not happen to me.
The benefits you’ll experience will be unique to you but there are many.
Below is part of an email I sent to family and friends a few days ago describing a workout in over 100 degree temperatures.
I just wanted to share with you part of my workout in the Arizona desert heat. It got to at least 107 degrees here at our house today. The humidity today was as low as 2%.
I just did a very intense 16 minutes and 27 seconds of Heavy Hands with 6 pound weights.
And half of that workout was going uphill.
Towards the end I really pushed it and I measured my heart rate in the anaerobic heart range twice during the workout.
The temperature started at 107 and ended at 105 when I finished.
Just a few tiny trickles of sweat did I have and there was no breeze at all and the sun was beating down on me.
The highest temp we’ve had so far over here in Arizona is 112 degrees outside our house.
Yesterday afternoon we went hiking in the hundred plus degree temperatures and for 95% of the way up and down the mountain I carried 2.75 year old Rainbow on my back in a sling.
We followed the trail up to the top of Lizard Peak in Sara Park.
Between all four of us we only had 21 ounces of water for over 2 hours of hiking in the hundred degree temperature range. And going up the steep mountain was really difficult for Karmyn and Andrew so you can imagine what it was like for me carrying Rainbow on my back.
Let me tell you — it was a hell of a workout.
I was huffing, puffing and groaning quite a bit. But it was well worth the effort.
By the way, that’s another raw super power.
You tend to sweat less and need less water than someone who’s eating cooked food.
I’ve found my body conserves its water much better in times of low water supply.
